Privacy Policy

Vebbl LLC ("Vebbl", "we", "us") provides a local discovery platform for consumers and businesses, delivered through the Vebbl consumer apps ("WCMA"), the Vebbl for Business products ("VBD"), and the Vebbl administrative tools ("SAC"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using Vebbl, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

We collect information in the following categories:

• Account information — name, email address, password hash, role, and authentication identifiers when you create or sign in to a Vebbl account.
• Profile information — display name, photo, preferences, friends, and any optional information you choose to add.
• Location information — approximate or precise location when you enable location services, used to surface nearby places and rank search results by proximity. When you check in to a place or set a Roam destination, the associated location is saved as part of that activity.
• Usage information — searches you run, places you view, tiles you save or share, interactions with businesses, and similar product activity.
• Device information — device model, operating system, app version, language, identifiers, IP address, and crash diagnostics.
• Business information — for VBD users, information about your business, listings, photos, hours, billing details, and team members.
• Communications — messages you send through Vebbl, support requests, and feedback.

We use information to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve search, discovery, and recommendations.
• Authenticate users, secure accounts, and prevent fraud or abuse.
• Personalize results based on location, history, and stated preferences.
• Deliver notifications, messaging, friend activity, and tile sharing.
• Support business listings, analytics, subscriptions, and billing.
• Communicate with you about your account, product changes, and legal notices.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Location is central to Vebbl, and we use it in two distinct ways:

• Nearby discovery — when you allow location access, we use your device location at the time of a search or browse to surface nearby places, sort results by proximity, and power map features. This use is momentary and supports the results you see.
• Saved location records — when you check in to a place or set a Roam destination, we record the associated location as part of that activity so the feature works and your own history is available to you.

Precise location is treated as sensitive information in some jurisdictions. Where the law requires opt-in consent to collect or use precise location, we obtain it. Separately, your device's operating system controls location permission, which you can grant or withdraw at any time in your device settings; turning it off will limit location-dependent features. We do not sell your location information.

Some Vebbl features use artificial intelligence — for example, assistance and recommendations that help you discover places. To provide these features, content and context you supply (which may include free text you type and related information that can contain personal data) is processed by our AI gateway provider, Lovable Labs Incorporated (the "Lovable AI Gateway"), which currently routes requests to a third-party model provider (at present, Google's Gemini models). The provider and model used may change over time.

Please do not enter personal or sensitive information into AI-assisted features that you would not want processed by an AI service provider.

Vebbl's Smart Ratings summaries are generated by our own rule-based system from aggregated activity and do not use a third-party AI model. For the current list of providers that process information on our behalf, see our Subprocessors page.

We share information only as needed to operate Vebbl:

• With other users — your public profile, tiles you share, and messages you send.
• With businesses — aggregated analytics about visits, saves, and engagement.
• With service providers — hosting and infrastructure, communications, AI processing, and customer-support providers acting on our behalf under contract. See our Subprocessors page for the current list.
• For legal reasons — to comply with law, lawful requests, or protect rights, safety, and security.
• In a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We use cookies and similar technologies on our websites for authentication, preferences, analytics, and security. See our Cookie Policy for details and choices.

We retain information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Some jurisdictions, including California, treat certain data such as precise geolocation as sensitive and give you the right to limit its use; where these rights apply, you can exercise them as described below. Where we rely on your consent — for example, for precise location where consent is required — you can withdraw it at any time.

You can manage many preferences directly in the app (notifications, location, friends, messaging) and in your device settings. To exercise other rights, contact privacy@vebbl.io. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

Vebbl is intended for people aged 16 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us information, contact privacy@vebbl.io and we will take steps to delete it.

Vebbl is operated from the United States. By using the service you understand that your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. Where mandatory data-protection law applies to you, nothing in this Policy limits the rights or protections that law gives you.

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and update the Effective Date. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
